March of Remembrance is an international organization that honors the survivors and victims of the Holocaust while promoting healing and reconciliation between victims and perpetrators, and their descendants.

We are happy to present our 2026 Nathaniel March of Remembrance Scholarship theme this year: Building Bridges and Allies. Written essays are limited to 1500 words. Photographs and dimensions of the artwork are required. 

Acceptable entries include poems, essays, dramatic readings, sketch art or paintings.

The Nathaniel Foundation has established the following guidelines.

1. Only currently enrolled SMU students are eligible to submit.
2. While we appreciate healthy debate, this isn’t a platform for any attempt to oppose the veracity of the Nazi genocide of European Jewry. The entries shall not be used as a political statement, a publicity stunt, or as an outlet for religious mockery.
3. The student applicant must attend the March of Remembrance event. Scholarship winners will be announced at the event and top winners will be published on this website after the march. Register for the march here >>
4. Only one submission per student will be accepted.
5. The extended deadline for submission is now April 15th at midnight CST.
